smiling steamed bread

Today I made smiling steamed bread with rice powder.

I used  wild blue berry for part of eye and mouth.


I tasted it as soon as I steamed.

Ummmm...It was bitter!!!!!

Why?

When I made, I  put suger.

Berry was also sweet.

But white bread was bitter.

I wondered...and checked with internet.

Then I found that it was because of baking soda.

According to information on internet,

if I use too much baking soda,

bread would be bitter!!

I see...

As I recall, amount of baking soda might be too much

because I wanted to raise dough.

Though I was disappointed this time,

I will never make a same mistake!
